DTS movie + Creative X-fi soundcard - I experience the following problem, for which I think I exhausted all checks I can do by myself.
- I have an HTPC with X-Fi sound card which outputs 5.1, directly through 6 connections into my amplifier (not through SPDIF)
- I also own the DVD of the movie "Fight Club" which has a DTS 5.1 audio track.
When I play the DVD on my PS3 I can hear the DTS 5.1 clearly over all the speakers, this is my reference.
I downloaded the movie in 720p+DTS and played it on BSPLayer; even though the audio menu indicated DTS 5.1 I could not hear the rear channels. Question #1: What could be the problem? - I did try to change manually the Audio decoder from System Default to AC3Filter and then to ffdshow and it did not solved the problem.
Question #2: Is there anywhere a test file for DTS which outputs each channel in turn? - I want to state that I do no have the possibility of output SPDIF, since it requires a special hardware connector from Creative Labs which I don't have.
