What I see happening is that sometimes the font size starts at 72pt, and sometimes at 22pt, even when I always reset the size to 40pt, it does not stick (I also set size to 40pt in the subtitles preferences window, for both primary and secondary subtitles)

Hi!
I just downloaded BSplayer 2.50.1017 and have the following question. Is there a way of turning down the 'video window alpha value' (which can be adjusted in Preferences) to zero while at the same time not making the subtitles transparent?
I mean, It would be great if one could make only the video window, but not the subtitles, transparent. This way it would be possible to superimpose the video window over an embedded flash player (like at Youtube) and play the subtitles there.
Of course one needs a video for BSplayer to play for making the subs to work, but this could be just a long video of a black image - easy to make using Windows Movie Maker.
Getting the timing of the subs right takes a little work but it's not that hard.
This would actually be a feature I would be willing to pay for.

One could of course resize the video window in to a small rectangle an place it under the embedded video, but that affects the viewing experience so it would be awesome if it could be placed over the embedded video as a transparent rectangle.

And in case someone is wondering, I know about the 'Open URL' option but more often then not I can't get it to work properly.

Thank you for any info.

Hey, I was wondering if there was on option to be able to take screenshots without the subtitles appearing, but still be able to be seen on the video. The only reason I think I can do this is because I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP, and it did just that without me setting anything. Now when I try to take a screencap, it saves the subtitles to it as well. I'm aware I can turn subtitles off to take a screencap, but that's a bit tedious to do each time. This was with softsubs on a .mkv file.

I can't see FMP4 in File Types or mentioned in ffdshow.
I am using Ver 2.50 1017 Pro and the Codec Manager indicates that
all is up to date.

Hey

I've been a longtime fan and user of BS player, but ever since I've updated the new version - 2.50 - I'm having a frustrating new problem. The full screen mode, instead of displaying the file full screen, displays it in a small box at the center. The movie mode - I don't really understand the difference between the movie mode and the full screen mode anyway - seems to work, but it does weird things to the subtitles, which then become huge and place themselves in a tight column at the center of the film. What's going on? What am I missing?

Thank you
Freddy

Hi

I've just downloaded version2.50 of bsplayer free.
Previously I used older version (typically 1.00RC) and found very useful to use .ini (or .bsi) files to give automatically parameters when reading divx movies:
especially this file allowed to define chapters.

My older ini/bsi files seems not to work with the new version of bsplayer. Is it normal ? Are there other ways to
do the same thing (automatic loading of subtitles, chapters, audio files, display format and so on).

Hi,
Yesterday I faced a problem, trying to play a full HD mkv file (1920x1080p).
The video plays very slowly, totally out of sync with audio, and freezes every 8-10 secs. I checked movie info and the fps ranges from 7,75 - 15,50.
I tried with other movies, the same problem occurred.
The strange thing is that some days ago, the same movies played without any problem.
I use an Acer Aspire 8930 laptop, with 4GB Ram, Windows Vista.
The BSPlayer version is 2.36, build 990.

Pls advice
Chris

P.S. This problem happened after I defragmented the laptop with OO defrag. Is this relevant? I don't think so...
