What do you think of BS.Player

AVG SCORE: 6,6

Alinutza 15th November 2006 06:32 PM

BSplayer got a 6 on iterating

adicoto 15th November 2006 08:03 PM

Should have separated PRO from FREE. You can't rate both of them in the same way, isn't it ? A PRO user and a FREE user did not get the same product.

@Alinutza: It got that score based on only one (1) reviewer.

;)

@Adicoto: Think of this score as an aggregate of scores for PRO and FREE versions of BS.Player.

adicoto 20th November 2006 03:33 PM

I can vote for the PRO version (I don't use the FREE one). But the users of free version can't. So, please, make two pools, one for PRO, one for FREE. Maybe the results will be different.

Ah, se mi je zdel, da ste Slovenci... Od mene čista desetka, fenomenalen programček.

EDIT: Vsaj vaš forum bi lahko podpiral šumnike. :D

Ico-man 21st November 2006 03:20 PM

@Space Voyager:

Thumbs up! ;)

adicoto 21st November 2006 09:24 PM

It's something like "I am proud of being slovenian, wonderful program" ?

Ico-man 22nd November 2006 09:50 AM

No. :)

It's actually: "Ah, se mi je zdel, da ste Slovenci... Od mene čista desetka, fenomenalen programček.

EDIT: Vsaj vaš forum bi lahko podpiral šumnike. "

Translation: Ah, i figured you were Slovenians... I give you clear ten, fenomenal little program.

EDIT: At least your forum could support South Slavic diacritical characters.

4 Real

adicoto 22nd November 2006 04:27 PM

Thanks for translation.

Ico-man 22nd November 2006 04:27 PM

You are welcome.

Space Voyager 23rd November 2006 10:59 AM

 Sorry for not translating it myself... Although I could have problems with "diacritical" :D .

Ico-man 23rd November 2006 11:47 AM

I had problems with it too. :D

dezinto 28th November 2006 12:09 AM

8) Glad to say that in the latest version all glitches with playlist (mixed types videos) are ELIMINATED! Great thanks! But how about timing? (almost half minute reading 10 files)

gmeades 5th January 2007 03:58 PM

Is "1" high or low...?

Do you mean ranked as #1 or do you mean "10" is the highest...?

...and if the pro version has more features, support, works better, and so on, then might someone who thinks the 'free' version kinda sucks skew your rating, if they rate the product poorly...?

especially if all your efforts have been going into the pro version, which from the sound of it, as well as my personal experience, is still in need of fixes and tweaks, itself...

And that's exactly what adicoto meant some posts above. It would be better to distinguish from FREE and PRO version..

Anyway 10 is the highest!

Ico-man 2nd February 2007 12:20 PM

@gmeades: BS.Player is 10! :). i hope you now know which score is the best.

elf_sander 4th February 2007 05:03 PM

I gave it a 7, the pro version is very nice. Would've gotten a 10 easily. Though the FREE version is nothing worth more than an 1.

daggenhagen 11th February 2007 08:29 PM

The "free" version of BSplayer is BS; You have to install spyware to run the program.

WhenUSave

"The only software that provides you with the ads you want, when you need them most!"

Actually, I'd rather have no ads whatsoever, as I have no NEED or WANT to be brainwashed by software installed on my Personal Computer.

The full version rules, tho..

Ico-man 12th March 2007 02:28 PM

"The "free" version of BSplayer is BS; You have to install spyware to run the program. "

Adware. - (ONLY UP TO VERSION 2.30)

"The full version rules, tho.."

Thank you.

New version occassionally screws features that were working OK. That woulnd't be a problem, if fixes came fast. The problem is they sometimes come 2 months late on CONFIRMED regressions.

Ico-man 11th December 2007 09:12 AM

We are trying to keep up. You can help us by posting bugs and include as much informations as you can such as , BS.Player version, OS, media filetype, and the conditions under which the bug occured. (screen shot...)

cludos 22nd December 2007 05:02 AM

Disappointed

I came back to check out BSPlayer after many years and am disappointed to find out that the free version is now adware supported. This player used to one of the best out there.

What I don't realize is why would anyone use a feature-crippled adware laden video player when there are so many good free alternatives out there (VLC, GOMPlayer, Media Player Classic)...

Tizio 22nd December 2007 09:10 AM

Because BSplayer is the best player! Simple! And if you want to support it (otherwise it's development could be canceled) you can either buy the cheap Pto Lite version or use the adware based one.
I know it's disappointing, but it's needed

Sylver Cheetah 53 4th March 2008 02:11 PM

It's my favorite video player. :)

Mon1018 6th June 2008 01:49 PM

BSplayer got a 6 on iterating

Tizio 9th June 2008 09:23 AM

adicoto 9th June 2008 04:56 PM

In my opinion, there is a huge mistake in what that picture shows. BSPlayer can't compete with those programs.

Mat2000 11th August 2008 07:59 PM

Now without Adware pure 10.
:)

zamenhof 28th April 2009 04:22 PM

10x i love it

i love it, it does the job
and fast..

Tony Romeo 23rd June 2009 06:53 AM

awesome

I an really pleased with BS player pro v. 2.41
I could not give it a 10 though as I had to stuff around for over an hour to get it to play DVDs, finally resolved with the installation of K-Lite codec pack.

Also it wont play youtube videos. I enter the url and click 'ok' and nothing happens...even if I leave it for a few minutes.

I have used lots of free media players and they work straight away without having to install this or adjust that.

Other than these issues I am loving it.

Gilles 6th July 2009 10:22 PM

9/10 because, almost everytime I install an update, some of my settings (not related with BSPlayer!!) are changed, such my default internet browser, my screensaver settings, or my divx settings ....

Azazel 31st July 2009 10:34 PM

9/10 it loves my MKV files,i prefer them too, richer in colour, sharpness of picture.
VLC apparently comes with internal codec pack, but stutters with MKV's.
My only gripes are the annoying subtitle message at the start, and from what i've experienced the few times i've used the subs, they're not on a black background, which can be annoying with certain films.
Apart from that,it's a superb little player.
Fixed see above post.

(1) You havn't - up to now - been able to get rid of it?
(2) You can have a black background if you prefer that:
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Subtitles > [Subtitle properties]
Deselect "[ ] Transparent background"
(You can also select colour for the background there).

juddaz1982 15th August 2009 08:59 PM

great for movies, the best for subtitles movies, getting there on the music front

Azazel 31st August 2009 07:14 PM

The bs Player in my opinion,is the best media player out there.
It beats Media Player classic, which is my 2nd fave.
My fave codec is MKV,which is best for 720p & 1080p HD rips.
BS plays them with perfection, sharp pic & good scope of sound.
VLC & others bow down before BS.:shade:

When editing your previous post in this thread (post #34) you mentioned "above post", but you probably refer to post #35? My personal choice for these forums is that a newer post is shown below a previous post. I suppose your personal preference is that the newest post is shown on top of the thread?
Anyhow expressions like above or below are not always OK for this vBulletin forum (as it used to be for BS.Player's previous phpBB-forum), as users can select themselves (in Thread Display Options) in which order (newer first or older first/top to bottom) they want posts to be shown.

Azazel 3rd November 2009 03:09 AM

It's ok,but in light of recent problems,im using Media Player Classic Home Cinema,or VLC

Hillbilly 8th November 2009 10:46 AM

Has to be a 10
For replay quality and versatility there is no competition to BS Player
