For when rots visualize the AVCHD |codec|?

To play AVCHD content you must have a splitter for the specific files (MPEG2 or H264) and also a filter to decode the streams. AC3Filter and CoreAVC should do the trick. Also, if the file is in fact a HD-rip you will need a matroska scplitter. I ecommend Gabest one.

Notice: full HD content playback it's not supported by BSPlayer.

You need a H.264 (=AVC) decoder, like ffdshow or CoreAVC. And also a source filter for MPEG-TS, for example Haali Media Splitter.

What is the meaning of this statement? DirectShow should not discriminate between the relative low/standard/high definitions.

Like DVD full support, you need to pay royalties for full HD support. You can play HD content, but can't use the full features of a HD disk.

For the record, BSP Pro can play DVDs, but only if you acquire the MPEG-2 decoder. More info on this thread:

As stated at the bottom of BSPlayer's PRO description page:

BS.Player PRO 2.x gives you even more multimedia experience! - BS.Player.com

Play all your DVD's with low CPU requirement and with highest quality. (3rd party mpeg-2 decoder required)
