If you don't know, you can check:
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Subtitles [Subtitle properties]
If "Use new subtitle parser/renderer" isn't selected/checked you're using "old" subs-engine....

Using "EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer)" as Rendering mode?
How did you change fontsize?
