I realise that FFDSHOW is a filter/codec (whatever), I merely meant that I have installed only FFDSHOW, DivX 5, Xvid, and the AC3 filter. I didnt install any of the overly excessive codec packs like...

What im saying is that the sliders controls under the video section in the preferences work fine for FFDSHOW films (i.e AVI films) but are frozen when playing back MPEG files.

What I want to know...

Some advice from the experts would be appreciated.

I am running on a win2k platform and have been using BS Player with the DivX 5, Xvid and AC3 codecs with no problems for /avi movie playback....
