Probably BSPlayer's install folder is read-only...

Probably BSPlayer's install folder is read-only and can't save settings.
Anyway, test other rendering methods, so by chance, one may work properly.

How to move subtitles on the very bottom

Options -> preferences -> subtitles -> general...

Options -> preferences -> subtitles -> general properties and enable draw subtitles to black border in EVR mode.
Then switch in video options -> rendering engine -> rendering methode to EVR
