I just installed FLV splitter and started to use BSPlayer for .flv files instead of MPC. I also added FLV as BSPlayer file type, so FLV files opens with BSPlayer by default. Works fine.

Gabest MP4 splitter. MP4 files are often in H264 format and best decoder is CoreAVC (not free though). Audio is often AAC and good decoder for that is CoreAAC.

Just tested 480p .mov trailer and it played flawlessly in BSPlayer and CPU was normal (moved between 16-33%), even in fullscreen. With QT Player CPU was nearly 100!.

720p clip also played...
