Does the "shutdown when finished" really work in W

Hello,

(At first i'm sorry for my english)

If i use the "Shutdown when finished" option, my computer shows the "now is possible turn off" screen instead of automatically make a shutdown, can you help me?

Regards,

V.

Sorry, it's not a bug.

I've tested this feature and it works perfectly with build 494 under Win98se, WinMe, or WinXP.

I guess that your issue is hardware related. Your PC must be compliant, especially the motherboard and power supply !
If you can't shutdown your PC from the Windows Start menu, BSPlayer can't neither.

it's very strange...

Hi,

of course i'm able to automatically shutdown my PC from the Start Menu, other utilities also do the same thing except for Bsplayer, this is the matter!

I'm looking forward to find a solution, i think this is the best DiVX player.

Do you get the dialog box for confirmation and the 30s countdown?

WingChunMan 25th February 2003 08:31 PM

Shutdown issue...

Yes, i wait the countdown for 30 sec. and the application closes my Windows operating system, but the PC remains with the "now is possible turn off" screen, can you suggest me something to do?

No idea for the moment.

I have the same problem with windows ME, countsdown get all the way to a black screen and hangs. Now for what it's worth . if you use selective start the feature works for me . I had the same problem uICE. If youre useing Nortons Anti Virus which many people are, i think this is ware some of the problems lie. uICE reconfigured the sequence of there shutdown feature and it works fine now. The problem lies, its not closeing down the programes running in the background so it hangs. Hopefully someone at BSplayer will read this and maybe they can make some adjustments. I hope, if anybody can get this info to them faster,we all would be happy campers. Iv'e tried.

to fix problem with shutdowning, BSPlayer coder/s should use api for
"PowerOff" insted just "Shutdown"

en0n 14th November 2003 03:42 PM

3 easy steps to fixing "shutdown bug"...(BSPlayer v1.0.0.800)

To patch Bsplayer you'll need UPX and any HEX editor.
Get UPX from:
http://upx.sourceforge.net/download/upx124w.zip

Get free HEX editor from:
http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delph...vi32/xvi32.htm

and finaly...

step 1. unpack BSplayer with "upx -d bsplay.exe"
step 2. open bsplay.exe with HEX editor and go to offset C9BFF. If there is byte "05", change it to "0C" and save changes.
step 3. pack BSplayer with "upx -9 bsplay.exe"

that's all. your computer will now truly shutdown after and of the movie.

p.s.
this stuff may be not legal and blah, so your doing all this at your own risk.
