Screen Saver is disabled always

Hi, i have BS Player free ver. 2.53 and i have noticed that the windows' screen saver is being always disabled while the BS Player is opened.

This is an issue because i have an HTPC that is connected to LCD and i fear for Burn-in issues because of the static image when/after using BS Player, because it doesn't re-enable the screen saver.

I think the screen saver should be re-enabled when the movie has been finished.

What is selected under "When finished" in the south-east corner
under (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General [General settings]
Doesn't "Close BS.Player" solve your problem?

Hi Peter, thx for the replay.

No, this will not solve my problem because i mostly have an open BS Player getting ready for a movie, and then something comes up - whether it's a phone call, or my wife calling for a dinner, or just about anything else.

Those tend happen also during the movie.

In my opinion when the player is not playing (either movie paused, ended or didn't even start), the player should enable the Screen Saver back.

BTW, if i'm not mistaken in an older version it did not do that.

I suppose you also tried When finished Close file?
Sorry, I personally (being a BS.Player-user just like you) cannot test as I don't have your configuration.
Screensavers were 'invented' to prevent "phosphor burn-in" on CRT (and plasma) monitors. Today, screensavers most of the time don’t serve this original purpose any more. In fact they mostly are not really necessary and are primarily used for entertainment/cosmetical purposes (to pleasure the eye) or to hide what's shown on screen. As far as I know LCD displays are not susceptible to burn-in.

Well, burn-in in LCD is real. Although not common like on plasmas (which is called image-retention), and needs quite a bit more time to cause such affect on LCD, however burn-in in modern LCD is in fact a thing to be careful about.

This is why i'd like to have an option to restore Screen Saver when "not playing" - just an option.

When you press Stop button in BS.Player, screen saver is re-activated.

Ico-man, you were right. I was trying to recreate the problem and finally got it!

The screen saver is being disabled permanently when the BS Player crashes, until next reboot of the PC.
That's the problem.

Thank you for exact description of the error, will be fixed in next beta.
