Exclamation BS Player Codec Manager don't works through proxy

Hello guys.

The BS Player Codec Manager don't works through my proxy connection. It shows the following error:

Quote:
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Codec list could not be downloaded. Please check your internet connection.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
I tried to put proxy settings (ip, port, user, pass) at "proxy configuration" tab but had no effect.

I tried to create a bspcodecdl.ini file on BS Player installation folder with the following info but had no effect at all.

Quote:
[ProxySettings]
Type=1
Server=aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
Port=8080
User=zzz
Pass=yyy
The IE is correctly configured to navigate through proxy and the user/pass are saved. Also, I have no problem with other softwares that uses internet connection.

OS: Windows 7 32-bit (firewall disabled!)
BS Player: 2.61 (downloaded/installed today)

Any idea?

thanks evbody!

(I suppose you clicked on [Refresh]-button after having filled in your settings at the [Proxy configuration]-tab?)
Just a wild idea (didn't try or investigate anything):

bspcodecdl.exe was the former name of BS.Player's accompanying program of which the present name is codecmanager.exe.
Maybe the ini file should accordingly be renamed as well.

All proxy settings are retrieved from codecmanager.exe, not from ini file (anymore). Like BSPeter suggested, enter all data in Proxy settings tab and click Refresh, if it works you will receive list of available codecs.

yes, I clicked on Refresh button many times (same error)

I entered the same proxy infos that are in the IE options... and the same user/pass are saved there...

thank you

If the proxy settings are correctly entered in codecmanager (and they do work in IE), than something (software or hardware) must be blocking traffic, such as firewall of antivirus software.
