Default your Problem...

hey Dude ... you should get into the thing before complaining.

BSPLAYER is a stand-alone player, that can play almost any format but YOU NEED TO INSTALL FILTERS for those formats.

WinDVD and other Tools (VideoLanClient etc.) have built in filters but as you can't play those files, you do not have a general filter for them installed in your system so bsplayer can't play them thats all.

Just search the web for a direct show Mpeg/divx/asf .... codec and install them ... and bsplayer will work fine !

You can also take some of the filters from WinDVD ... mostly named:
Filtername.ax ...

Default problem still there

when u told me to get mpeg and asf codec i searched in the web , i have a program can detect the suitable codec for video file ,so i used that program (GSpot).i tested some of my damaged vids with it i get this msg in status window :Error number:0*80040265
Error Name:VFW_E_UNSUPPORTED_STREAM
FULL ErrorText:Cannot play back the file. The format
is not supported.
I think the problem is not the codec something else .
1.75Gb of vids all are damaged.
Here is a file with my all codec:

Sounds like the file your trying to get to play is buggered. Try opening it in virtualdub see what that spits back. GSpot while excellent for .avis will not tell you much for .mpeg and .asf, afaik that support hasnt been added to it yet.

Also, BSPlayer shouldnt be able to damage a file, it should only be reading the file.. something very wrong is happening if its writing to them.

adicoto is on a distinguished road
Default

Bsplayer don't damage files. Point.
The mpg files are MPEG 2 files. To see them you need a MPEG2 codec. DVD players have them included.
Same thing is for asf and wmv files. Download wmpcodecs9 from microsoft site.
Install and all works fine with BsPlayer.
