Default Unknown file format (DIV3)

I ripped the movie 'The Pianist' myself and that isn't my first rip I do.
But it is the first time that I get an error on a movie I ripped and it is also the first time I see this error.
Like the topic already mentioned, the error says that I need a div3 codec or something like that. I don't get video nor audio.
I'm using Windows XP.
I already browsed hours on the net and couldn't find a solution.
A lot of people claiming that when you download this or that file would help you. Somehow those codecs aren't really helping me because then my BSPlayer crashes and I need to re-install. Not the result I wanted.

Hoping to find a solution on this forum.
You are my only hope...

div3 means divx3.11

search the net for this codec (and search the forum too as this has been asked very very often now...)

Indeed, you need Divx 3.11 (Alpha)
You can download it here:

which codec did you use for your movie?
is it divx3.11 or divx 5.0.x or divx 4 or xvid?
it's probably a problem with your file ( nothing to do with bsplayer )
you should try re ripping it again or open it with virtualdub to check for broken blocks or missing index !
