Probably you didn't copy over bsrendv.dll. You must also copy this dll.

I've tried copying over a previous install and a clean install, I also tried uninstalling vobsub.. I still get that same error message every time that I try to load a file in b492. I'm using XP + SP1.

b490 (and vobsub 2.19, but isn't related to this I believe) work fine though... except I know that b490 doesn't work with all DirectDraw/3D settings (I use RivaTuner) that problem being exactly related to the amount of system memory to use for textures which I can set up to 32Mb, but no higher than that. I tried adjusting that setting, but it makes no difference for b492. :?

Well.. to sum it up, it doesn't work for me, but on the other hand I'm happy with what I have in b490.

Oh, and thanks for your work bst. :)

A little update

I just tried it in my WinME: -> installed b488 -> b490upd -> b492 and it works perfectly. :) So I guess it must be something wrong in my XP config or an XP incompatibility in the player.. I don't know. Weird though since regarding installed codecs and stuff the XP set up should be a lot cleaner (only separate codecs installed no nimo pack or stuff). Then again maybe it's a codec/filter I'm missing.. or maybe the different Detonator drivers in the two are the key. Lot's of possibilities.. Got to keep on tweaking. ;)

Ah, problem seems to be solved. Change from mode2 to mode1 seems to be the key for b492. Do I feel like a BSPlayer-n00b now? Yes! :D

OK, now try this: switch back to mode 2, it should work now as well. Well, it did in my case. Never understood why, but please tell me, if taking screen shots (CTRL+P; P) works then, for me it doesn't. Also, changes in OSD font will not be applied in mode 2. Can you confirm that?

BTW, 492 files copied over 490 install worked like a charm.

Re: error 492

I have had several problems with BSPLAYER in different equipment and have reached the conclusion that everything must to the video card.

I have had good result proving several combinations with following the three setting in menu "Options", "Preferences" ("General "and" Video"):

1- "Don´t load DivX; - } settings"
2- "Force RGB mode"
3- " Use overlay"

In menu "Video" do not have to be selected the other options (only "Force RGB mode" or "Use overlay")

Good luck.
