Default BSplayer won't show up in "Open With..." menu

Greetings,

I installed BSplayer on my XP SP2 system and it works fine except that it didn't set up itself with the correct file associations. For instance, opening an AVI file always starts WMP and not BSplayer even though I told the installer to set up the file associations.

BSplayer doesn't appear in the file associations dialog in Windows (e.g. via the "Open With..." right click) and if I try to set it by browsing to bsplayer.exe nothing happens.

Has to be a BSplayer specific problem because it works with other players such as WinDVD.

any ideas?

BSPeter is on a distinguished road
Default

If you wish to "associate" filetypes to BSPlayer: start BSPlayer
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General > [File types]

When posting always mention your computer's OS and the version and build number(!) of BS.Player as used by you,
as well as - if applicable and especially when encountering problems - the type(s) of the file(s) mentioned in your post.

Default File Associations

No, that doesn't do it either. Associating BSplayer with file types does not work whether you do it from inside BSplayer or from Windows itself.
