Unable to open files directly from BSplayer

I had just installed verison 1.36 build 825. Now I cannot open anything through BSplayer without getting the error underneath. I can still open the files indirectly through explorer though. And for some reason, all the skins aside from the Base one cause the Unsupported skin format error to appear, even if they had worked before on the previous version.

Access violation at address 00569774 in module 'bsplayer.exe'. Write of address 0000000C

Also, I have downloaded the night build but I keep getting the "Unsupported skin format" whenever I open it. Is there any way to get rid of it?

The nightly build was intended to be used along with BSplayer v1.35.823.
If you have installed BSplayer v1.36.825, you MUST NOT install the night build 824!

Try to do a fresh reinstall of BSplayer, uninstall it, manually delete the installation folder, then try to install it again and the problem should be solved

I did a fresh reinstallation but the same access violation error still happens when I try to open files through BSplayer.

I'm running Windows 2000, if it's any help.

I don't think the problem is with the operating system... :(
Have you recently installed some other software that may have messed up your system? (here is a post related to the skin's problem [not fixed])

I have no ideas on how to fix your inconvenient, I don't have problems with it :?

Alright. Thanks anyway Tizio. I guess I'll survive without opening files directly in BSplayer for a while (maybe it'll go away in the next build :P).

Good luck
