gate1975mlm is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Error when opening .asx files!

I like to save radio streams to my PC. The files are .asx files. BSPlayer Pro will not open the stream and says error.

WMP and Realplayer can open it just fine.

What is going on?

Yes, hello to you too.
Did you already contact BS.Player-team?
To purchasers of BSPlayer Pro (holding an officially obtained registration code), BSPlayer-team provides technical e-mail support, which is made available through the contact-form at http://www.bsplayer.org/en/contact_us/. (A link to this form is also provided at BSPlayer's webpage "Customer Service". So BSPlayer Pro users are invited to use this options to receive direct support from BSPlayer-team.

By the way: I don't think you can save as mentioned using BS.Player!

Not BSPlayer. Usually you do that into the "downloading" dialog box when it ask you if you want to open the stream or to save it to your computer, like downloading any other file.

Yes, of course. It's that simple. So simple I forgot about it.
Maybe that's also what gate1975mlm meant to say and that he then (after download) wishes to play it using BS.Player. I've done so in the past with no troubles at all.

video (not audio): http://www.terena.nl/~dick/cam2.asx

(There seem to be some problems in Vista+IE7 and/or with Quicktime and/or with Nero Showtime installed.)
Edit: another link (audio this time): http://video.surfnet.nl/SVP/X/Extensies/ASX/kinkfm.asx
On second thought I think "rightclick > save as" only saves a link.
I probably mixed up this ("having done so in the past") with .asf files.

Only Microsoft is to blame for popularizing this overly complex technology. The Windows Media formats can't be guaranteed to work everywhere.

Seems to be OK now for the audio one. The video, on the other side, doesn't work any more.
