I did run from "free" BSplayer because of the advertisments i dont want to see on my computer.
Now, everytime I log onto BSPlayer's site I must see advertisments. I understand that it can't live without those but at least, post advertisments in an international language (once there were even in my language). Getting tired of that turkish company advertisment.

BSPeter 6th April 2007 10:51 AM

No Turkish adds overhere!
Only Dutch and English.
Depends on where you live

OK, then I am living in Turkey. Nice to finally know that.

Can I sue you for boring ?
I know my time zone is Athens / Bucharest / Istanbul, but my Windows is surely installed with romanian localization not turkish :D And haven't seen any greek advertising yet. Yet

J7N 6th April 2007 09:16 PM

Opera 8 + filter.ini* * *is your solution.

adicoto 6th April 2007 09:49 PM

Yeap, and probably Linux, or better, DOS, or even better, CP-M.

adicoto 6th April 2007 10:01 PM

That advertisment is still in here.

Tizio 6th April 2007 11:49 PM

Now I have that same advertisement too
Different area, different time-zone, different language :o

J7N 7th April 2007 12:13 AM

Feel free to ban http://*.googlesyndication.com/* in your brand new golden Internet Explorer 7, if you can.

BSPeter 7th April 2007 12:21 AM

It has meanwhile found its way to The Netherlands too!
But only at the top of this thread!
Seems it has found itself being mentioned!
Thanks for starting this thread adicoto

J7N, you're my man. Never thougth to just simply ban googlesindication. Finally, no more ads.
For those who have IE7 (I am under Vista right now) go to tools->internet options->security, click on "restricted sites" and add

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com...client=ca-pub-

Now it's silence (visual silence  )

LE: BSPeter, sorry to dissapoint you, but I've had it on the main page too.

BSPeter 7th April 2007 12:41 AM

Its gone now!

J7N 7th April 2007 12:43 AM

Sorry to dissapoint you: Unfiltered, Google would only display textual ads for my requests.

What's so special abot this "turkish motorcycle" ad?

adicoto 7th April 2007 12:45 AM

Not motorcycle, it's some energy provider from what I can tell.

BSPeter 7th April 2007 01:08 AM

Norton Internet Security enables you to switch off advertising
(Add "googlesyndication.com" at "Suppress advertisements"-tab under Norton's "Options for webcontent")

Tizio 7th April 2007 07:16 PM

Many security softwares have features to disable advertisements, and I think all browsers (FireFox has extensions that accomplish this task)

Anyway these ads don't hurt me, on other forums/sites they are really invasive, but IMHO to show only a wide banner on top of the page is not a big issue

If you don't like to see the sponsored links (highlited, underscored words) you can add to restricted sites "http://bsplayer.com/forum/index.php#"

Ico-man 14th November 2007 10:32 AM

If it is so distracting to see ad in foreign language, you can always disable display of ads, (like Tizio already mentioned) simply use Firefox and install Noscript addon, and simply ban googlesyndication. That will solve your problem for good.

P.S.: We get that Entel ad here too.
