playlist

1) Playlist should have an option to show total lenght!!!!
2) While transiting from one to another entity in playlist there is a big 1-2sec black screen (gap) while player recognise format and load proper decoders and filters... and ocupy again overlay video... it is almost eternity
Transition from one to another entity in playlist should be buffered so on video out - secondary screen (TV) all should looks like it is joined video - continuous!!!! it is enaugh like simple cut but like this is right now, it is too much unprofessional for pro version!
3) There must be incorporated serious script capabilities for playlist so it could be possible to play something at 5.32.21 PM etc.....
4) Would like to have an option to overlay diferent logos and asign them to diferent entities in playlist.
5) In key definitions there is no listed open device (TV tuner) and at the end of playlist I would like somehow to automaticaly switch to TV tuner, rather than to use macros.... how ?
6) When I make playlist i would like to have side information when exactly something will be played not to take calculator....
7) Why setings like subtitle font size, and its screen position could not be memorised once and always be the same ?

Then BSPlayer PRO would be player from my dreams.

IMHO the terms "pro" and "professional" have been degraded in the media and marketing texts and currently bear absolutely no meaning.

For proper video playback without long delays and constant trouble with codecs we need to say good-bye to DirectShow. However, at the moment none of the alternative implementations – ffmpeg, videolan, TCPMP – are particulary usable. One can make them work, but the result will be far from pleasing experience. At least under Windows these programs function buggy (crash often) and are not user friendly.

It would not require to write alternative video player for Windows completely from the ground. By this player I mean standalone program, like (old) Winamp and Foobar2000. FFdshow is already quite stable and easy to use. The same (very good) ffmpeg core could be made into a normal Windows program.

But I'm not a developer so I might be wrong about how easy/hard it really is.

Exactly, you re right that VMR9 and advanced renderer is defacto todays standard, and it alows us to use GPU power . I am using also ffmpeg libavcodec.dll for mpeg decoder, but I have noticed that it is not reliable about fps, and its resaults are still much dependable of CPU's architecture even with precompiled versions for certain platform! Video does not play continuously but decoder trying to compensate lags and frequently chage fps. So I see faster and slower video, and it is noticable to much for professional purposes, less on Intel's than Amd's platforms but syndrome still exists.
I am trying right now with ligos, gabest mainconcept, canopus
and elecard solutions, and I can say that ffmpeg have unreliable performances comparing to them. I miss ffmpeg's filters and its configuration console but still I can use all of them independently.

It's out of topic but... :)

I am wondering if someone of developing crew would answer me about my original question?

Best regards,
