How to slow the asf video down, rewind

Hi everybody,
I am a newcomer in video so pls be tolerant if the question is stupid. I have several records of squash matches in asf format on my HD, but I only can play them from the very beginning to the end, or interrupt them. Yet there is a function in BSP to slow the motion down and some others, it doesn´t work in fact-the video stops then frozen and nothing else can be done than to close it and start again. Also, repeating some important sections, rewind... does not work. Is this the feature of asf files, or the imperfectness of players??

Thx,

Crazyman
