3ivx D4 4.5.1, blank picture

I just tried to play a local file, but instead got a message saying that the 3ivx D4 4.5.1 thirty day evaluation period was over.

I opened up the 3ivx config to see if there was some info but found nothing, then closed it.

I again tried to play a file & was able to do so.

I closed bsplayer, but the next time I tried to play a file, I got sound but no picture.

Same behavior no matter what file type I tried to play.

I rebooted & now everything seems returned to normal, at tleast for the time being.

Is therer a replacement for 3ivx, or should I just leave things as they are?

Is the rest just normal, buggy behavior, or is there another explanation?

Seems there is a trial period of 30 days for 3ivx codec. I got the pop-up message about that even when playing files that don't require 3ivx decoder or media splitter  .
Tested also matroska splitter and ffdshow. But get alot of errors (my computer is messed up because of tests like this install/uninstall codecs, splitters and so) and I can't reccomend you something else for now.
Do you use it for MP4 files ?

Same here. But for now everything is working o.k. Weird, just waiting for it to mess up again.

No, just video

MP4 is a video container :) 3ivX contain an MP4 splitter and for this I reccomend it. Do you have avi files encoded with 3ivx ?
