non-ac3 movies: voices too quiet, action scenes too loud. Hi everyone. Whenever I'm playing non-AC3 movies on my computer the voices on many movies are too quiet to understand while shootings and other action scenes are too way too loud. Is there any function in BSplayer to normalize the sound? I've tried dedynamic filtering but it didn't do the trick. I'd be glad for any help, it's so annoying and I'm no expert on codecs and filters. thx, kuglator |
Maybe using a WinAmp2 DSP plugin could do the trick? http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse...e=P&category=5  Also I think AC3 filter 1.11 (which I personally don't use (yet), but which also handles non-AC3 sound) has an option to normalize volume. |
You should search for "dynamic range compression" (DRC) if you want to raise the level of silent sounds. Ac3filter can do this for AC-3 audio. It can also process PCM audio from other decoders if you check this type on the System page. v1.01a works for me. No need to fix what ain't broken. |
I agree (that's why I'm personally still using good old and trusted v.070b). Nevertheless this version 1.11 (final/stable) looks promising enough. |
