TS file format: no audio with bs player 2.35

Hi,

I use mediaportal to record programs from TV + bs player to watch them.
Recently, this software only allows the TS (transport stream?) file format for recordings (they used to support mpg-file format in previous versions)

When I open such TS-file, the problem is that my bs player 2.35 does render the video correctly, but I can't hear any audio. Other programs like VLC have no problems with the audio. In the past, my bs player did not have such problems with mpg-files

my question: what can I do so bsplayer gives correctly the audio?
is it a matter of installing the right codecs? so yes, which ones?

any support is appreciated.
kind regards,
fre

You need a splitter that supports TS and an audio decoder such as AC3Filter.

So it is possible to view TS-files in bsplayer with audio?
How do you do this?
I would appreciate any step-by-step instructions...

Kind regards,
fre

Like suggested by adicoto: Download (click here) and install AC3Filter.

oké, I installed the suggested AC3 filter, rebooted, and looked to the audio setup (see screenshot attached) being sure AC3Filter is selected, but still I have no audio in bsplayer while with VLC, I have no problem with this...
I'm using a vista 64 bit system, this should not be a problem?

With such file loaded, what codecs/filter-information is shown under
(rightclick >) Options > Filters > Advanced?
(also click on the [+]-ses to reveal further info.
Why don't you update (click here) to latest version?

hi,
even with the latest version 2.41, it doesn't work.
when I look in the advanced tab under filters I see 'Haali Media Splitter' under source. Downloading that splitter and installing it didn't solve the audio problem.

I've uploaded a sample (8,7MB) of ts-video I recorded here:
http://users.telenet.be/frespace/sample.ts

(I recorded it with mediaportal with a hauppauge HVR-2200 tv-card)

if someone can check out if he can hear any audio with this file in his bsplayer and report it here? I would appreciate that very much.

kind regards,
fre

The filters/codecs you see under filters > advanced are the filters/codecs which BS.Player actually uses for playback. So any filters shown there are already present and installed on your system and need not be installed again (unless it concerns old versions of course).
I will download your sample and try. Does it have sound in VLC?

Yes, under VLC and KMplayer, i can hear sound.
But I prefer to use BSplayer, so it would be nice to find a solution for the audio problem ...

To looooove, to looooove....
No problems in here, using Elecard MPEG2 decoder and AC3Filter.

I downloaded the latest version of elecard and AC3 filter + installed it, but again, no audio. On all of my attempts I started with a fresh vista-install.
I'll keep on trying, whenever I find the solution for my problem, I'll post it here. Meanwhile I'll use vlc or kmplayer.
