thanks for all the suggestions, but no luck...

thanks for all the suggestions, but no luck still. installed all the codecs and things, and already had UAC off. any other suggestions? or am i stuck with VLC?

eh, it re-registers successfully (the little window pops up saying dllregisterserver succeeded or whatnot) but it still won't let me play the files in anything but VLC, saying the same error message...
