You were right! The CPU cooler was clogged with dust. Cleaned the cooler, now my PC able to run those 1080i files without shutting down by itself. CPU load still hovers around 97% to 100%.

be careful of codecs pack. it can really mess up...

be careful of codecs pack. it can really mess up the system and the playback will become worse.
unless you know exactly what you are installing and for what purpose.
