I have problem with BSplayer unkownon format mpg and asf

Could not locate MPEG stream

I tried to change format from mpg to dat format with VCDGear program
but at the end i receied this msg:
Could not locate MPEG stream
How i can locate the mpeg stream ?
I think BSplayer damaged...

problem still there

when u told me to get mpeg and asf codec i searched in the web , i have a program can detect the suitable codec for video file ,so i used that program (GSpot).i tested some of my damaged vids with it...

mpeg,asf codec filters

how u can explain that i can play all my vids with powerDVD player then when i use BSplayer some of vids i cant play ?
why can play some vids of mpg and asf formats and other i cant even in powerDVD...
