Hmm... strange. Were those "subtitles" showing...
Hmm... strange.
Were those "subtitles" showing the actual date and time?
And another thing: "Disable all Subtitles" ... I don't have that option!
So ... even more strange.

Perhaps try menu > Preferences > General...
Perhaps try
menu > Preferences > General Preferences > OSD options [...]
remove ticks in boxes for Date and Time
