As far as I know BS.Player has no trial version; only Free and (paid for) Pro. From where did you download?

Are settings of (rightclick) > Options > Preferences > General > [Network buffer] OK?
And, more importantly, is "Open locked media files (files in use)" selected under ditto > [General settings] ?...

Just tried the following example which worked without any problem (the line below to be selected and simply pasted in [Start] > Run)
This under XP SP3. Didn't try under Vista yet.
