old skins

the old bsplayer skins do not work with 1.00 RC1 version.. is this a new feature or a bug?

johnny 12th November 2003 06:01 AM

same problem here. the old skins wont work with the rc1.
i want a small decent skin. and all i get are big ones. :?

xbungie 12th November 2003 11:22 AM

new BSplayer verison seems to be a great and useful tool as usual, but.. there are mega horrible skins only! we wanna something elementary, like basic skin from previous versions..

volzha 13th November 2003 01:31 AM

 And also the newly added skins dont work, i would say this is the major bug, and it has to be fixed right away!

there is a solution for using old skins, copy this file into plugins dir and activate plugins support in BSPlayer preferences.. thx bst

Installed oldskin.dll in the plugins folder, it is active. However Epiphany V1 still comes up with Unsupported skin format when I try to load it.

killingjokezzz 15th November 2003 11:29 PM

Works OK here using all the old skins I have installed. I don't know why it's not with you joe935.

joe935 16th November 2003 03:54 PM

Well, beats me too, Just downloaded and installed the new oldskin dll and I still cannot load the epiphany skin.

joe935 16th November 2003 03:55 PM

Just downloaded and installed the new oldskin.dll and the epiphany skin again. Working fine now.

i'm using windvd plus skin and it works with this plugin, but the audio-slider has gone :(
(yes, i know that a windvd2 theme is out, but the fonts overlap and i prefer the windvd3 look :) )

i also tried to convert it to a 1.0 skin, but there is no volume.bmp in the old skin-pack, so i assume that bsplayer used to render these bars on-the-fly?

WinDVD skin

I found the same thing. Only solution was to create a bitmap knob that matched, and change parameter details to allow it.

The extra features added are pretty cool, beyond that. The .ini is much more organized than fefore. The whole thing shows a lot of progress.
Still using 8.5 for video, but it'll get straightened out soon, I bet.

Where do we post skins for sharing?

goety 17th November 2003 10:15 AM

you can all upload your "modified" skins to
bsplay.com - just register and ask me for skinner permissions,

goety@bsplay.com

then you'll be able to upload skins
to bslay.com......

http://www.bsplay.com

going to do some upgrading to the site again,
adding different pages for bsplay 0.86 skins
and the new 1.00 skins

add pages for plugins and stuff,

maybe join up with bst ?
have to mail him back..

i just added the audio bar to the 1.0 port of this skin from trodas. the skin is available in the download-section (WinDVD 3.x), if anybody else is interested.

trodas 18th January 2004 11:02 AM

I added it too, after i tried the useless v1 (not possible put the subtitles bellow the movie = useless for me), its easy, just add the bitmap...

However i still did not manage to work the about a mute buttoms.

If anyone supply me ANY INFORMATIONS about how to make a v1 skin, i perhaps fix it. But with entire lack of infos, i can't done a thing.
