Please give us more info in order to help you (system info, codecs, version of bsplayer).
Do you have any codecpack installed?

more precisions would be nice too.
does your movie permanently freeze or does it go on after a little time (happens quite often to me: PIII 450 inside  ) ?
does it always freeze at the same place ?

same problem, frame freez and sound keep runing

i have the same problem, in every movie that i run, the frames freeze for a few seconds at differents moments in the movie, and the sound continues to play. Its creating another problem, the sound is coming before the image and make the movie impossible to view.

i had this problem with my last config:
motherboard ms-6119
pIII 450
160 pc 100 sdram
hd 8gb 5400 rpm
geforce4 mx 460
creative sound blaster pci 64
sld codec pack 1.5

and i have the same problem with my new one:
motherboard dfi ca64-tc
pIII 710
160 pc 100 sdram
hd 12gb 5400 rpm
geforce4 mx 460
integrated sound ac97 (via)
sld codec pack 1.5

plz help!

[sorry......it happens with some movies and on the same points in the movie.........when i turn the movie a little further (say 20seconds) its ok but sometimes only audio is ok and the frame remains freezed....
I have a P3 1000Mhz...64MB videocart, 512MB ram..BS player, AC3 codec and the standard codecs.......

Same problem here. :(
But I only have this problem when playing a divx
containing some "Freeze or Bad Frames".
For example James Bond - Die another Day,
has some of those "Freeze or Bad Frames".
Most divx movies play ok.
You can watch that divx anyway,
by using the slider bar to skip the bad part.
For me it is not a big problem,
only when some other people want to visit me to watch.
It does look a bit "unprofessional".
It would be nice if BSPlayer would recognize "Bad/Freeze Frames"
and would automatically skip to the next good frame.

This is not a BSPlayer problem, u must instaled new version from DivX Codec 5.05

There are some programs that can fix erors like those: DivFix and VirtualDub.

Have tried that, does not make any difference.
Movies with bad/freeze frames do freeze,
with or without Divx Codec 5.05

ffdshow DirectShow decoding filter

It is true that it is not a BSPlayer problem but a codec problem. However updating to DivX 5.05 version does not solve it. I'm currently using ffdshow DirectShow decoding filter, a package of audio/video decoders which has a better error control than the original DivX codec. ffdshow skips those bad frames which usually freeze and keeps playing the movie. Instead of freezing you will probably see a blurry screen for a couple seconds after the bad frame is played. This is much better than the alternative! I have tried many codec packages but ffdshow is still the best one so far... You can download it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow

You can try more aidio/video software at
http://www.divx-digest.com/software/index.html

P.S. ffdshow is only a decoder, not an encoder! You can only use it to play DivX / XVid movies! If you want to edit and save DivX / XVid movies (VirtualDub) you will need the actual DivX / XVid encoder. You should not have problems installing and using DivX, XVid, and ffdshow at the same time.

Thank you very much.
ffdshow is indeed preventing freezing of divx movies.
I have tested this out with a movie
containing some freezes and bad frames.
You only notice some "glitches" but it keeps running. :D

I need to have installed all codecs anyway.
If I try to use just ffdshow, most of my software does not find any codecs.
So I have now installed:

ac3filter_0_68b.exe
DivX.Pro.v5.0.3.exe
DivX412Codec.exe
DivXAF.0_4.exe
DivXG400.2_7.exe
divx_311alpha.exe
MPG4C32.DLL
MPG4DS32.AX
MPG4VKI.INF
XviD_Install.exe
ffdshow-20020617.exe

I think I do not need DivXAF.0_4 anymore,
which does anti-freeze, but only works for divx 3.11.
