missing dll message when launching BSplayer Hello, I've just installed the latest version of BSplayer on windows 98 SE and when I launch the app, I have an error message that says "error while locating a dll function" and nothing else happens. I've also tried to install the latest version as a zip and the nightly build (by the way what is exactly a nightly build ?), but I have the same error. Could someone tell me what missing dlls can cause this error ? Thanks a lot. |
Error while locating a DLL function Same problem : I just downloaded BSplayer v0.86 build 499, installed with no problem. But when trying to start it, I get the message "Error while locating a DLL function". Anyone else having the same problem ? |
The nigtly build is an zip file. It contains only the .exe file and the renderer .dll file. This must be extracted over an bsplayer install of 499 at least. |
thanks, it works now Hi, Thanks to your help I finally found out how to avoid the missing dll message. Everything seems to work fine if I install the latest version of bs player and then install the nightly build over it in the same directory. S. |
I did the same action, but still the missing dll dialog box. Who has any idea of the dll missing ? TIA |
This is the solution You must install DirectX 8.0 or highest (8.0 is the maximum for windows 95). Search in Microsoft downloads. |
