Video playing is laggy... I dont think it is actually a "BUG". I have an athlon XP 1800+ 512 DDR and geforce4 ti 4200 HD 7200 t/min But when i play a movie (divx, xvid), there are couple of laggy scene : i mean video and audio jump 1/10 seconds forward. What can change that? - Defrag? - Format? THX alot PS : i use ffdshow alpha instead of xvid/divx for decoding video |
Hello, I have got the same problem : some very small accelerations of the video and the sound sometimes. Video is playing from the HD, not from a CD. I am using Dualview to watch the video on my TV and the sound is sent by the SPDIF output of my soundcard to an external device. My config : Windows 2000 SP4, Pentium IV 2.54, 1 Go DDRAM, GeForce4 Ti 4200 with the latest drivers, Sound Blaster Live 1024 and the lastest BSPlayer of course :wink: |
Video is lagging 1 Attachment(s) I have the same problem where my video is lagging behind by a great deal. I would say that on some videos it lags by about 5 seconds. When the movie starts it is ok, but as the moive goes along, the audio would just keep on going and the video lags behind. On some videos it plays ok but most of the time I have to back the scene up just a tad to sync video/audio all up. |

First file seems to be re-encoded using VirtualDubMod. If the original file was using audio VBR, probably this is the cause. |
Have you got a Sound Blaster like me ? |
Who ? I don't think the sound blaster is the problem, I have an AC97 codec onboard. |
No, not you lol You don't have video problems... Drivers of Sound Blaster are so buggy that it may cause problems. I had the same problem with DVD and the solution was to decrease hardware acceleration of my sound blaster. But this manipulation does not work for AVI and this cause game sound to be unlistenable... |
Hi, I have the same problem too : when i play a movies (divx, xvid), there are sometimes laggy scenes (video and audio short jumps). At this moment, the CPU charge is between 50-100% (<25% when no lag) I have just re-install Win XP, BSPlayer & Codecs yesterday (before i have no problems with divx/xvid) Codec problem ? Bad Settings ? Any ideas are welcome :) My config : AMD 2600, 512 DDR400, A7N8X Deluxe (nForce2, Driver nvidia 3.13), HD 120Go, GF4 Ti 4200, Win XP SP1... |
problem solved... I had the same problem just some minutes ago! What happened? Let's start one week ago, where everything was playing fine and just the way it was supposed to. A friend came with a VCD and we HAD to install the elecard player in order to watch it - no other mpg2 player on my machine did this or crashed. So we watched the movie and it played fine. I just wanted to watch some standup comedy that was encoded with DIVX and at 48000hz. That was never a problem before. But this time, the video lagged extremely and was getting worse and worse. So there was not so much to laugh about :-( I searched this forum and tried all video settings (other overlays, etc..) But then I remembered: "Didn't you have this problem before once?" And yes, it's easy: Just uninstall the elecard player. It has an audio-decoder that doesn't work very well I think. Or I missed to configure it right. But after uninstalling, everything worked fine again. Maybe, that will help in your case also... just in case you also have the elecard player installed (which is also great but... you know..) |
