Volume and embedded subtitles problem in v2.70

Hi, I've updated my BSPlayer to v2.70 and now I'm having two problems:

1. Since 2.70 version now supports HEVC/x265, for that it uses LAV filters and by using LAV filters my volume for any video format is way lower than before the update. Unlike previous ffdshow extensive options for audio decoding, LAV apparantly has almost nothing worthwile.

I've tried reinstalling all the filters with codecmanager and latest K-Lite codec and LAV filter v0.67, nothing.

Also tried to force through K-Lite codec setup to use ffdshow audio for audio decoding and nothing, still everything goes through LAV, be it .avi or x265 .mkv.

When I "crank" up the volume in BSPlayer to 100% and in Windows 7 volume mixer everything to 100%, sound is so low that sound mixer in Windows is peaking at barely 10% max.

In other programs (Winamp, Media Player Classic... even when playing HEVC/x265), sound works fine.

2. The other problem is that BSPlayer won't load embedded subtitles in .mkv files. And I think this is not even a new problem. When I right click on video and go Subtitles, it says "undetermined" and wheter I click it or not, there are no subtitles.

In Media Player Classic everything works fine and it shows which subs are available in the file.

Halp :P

With the volume, problem can be solved easy by installing AC3Filter. I am also using LAV.
As for the embeded subtitles, I don't have such files yet to test.

Yes, but where do I find AC3Filter options for currently playing videos? Everything is running under LAV. Maybe that will work for some files, but for .mkv there's only LAV.

in my case bsplayer don't search for subtitle... he give me the "searching for..." but can't find anything.

If i search with the 264 version of the video he find.

First of all, MKV it's just a container. Like AVI, MP4.....To decode audio and video streams, same filters are used, nomatter which container it's used.

Did you install AC3Filter as system or just local (codecmanager) ?

See the attached photo. I have installed AC2Filter as system and it's working fine.

There seems to be another fix for that issue. Go to LAV Audio decoder properties, mixing tab, and enable mixing. Seems to fix the problem.

I know what mkv is and I did install AC3 systemwide through K-Lite, even when you install it now you can choose what you want to use to decode video and what to decode audio. And it's working on Media Player Classic with all the options, but not in BSPlayer. I also tried to install AC3 through codecmanger, same thing.

PS: mixing does not solve this problem, tried it in LAV 0.66 and 0.67, nothing happens.

It's random on .mkv (or any other container) with embedded subtitles, and now that I recall though years, this was always the problem in BSPlayer. I could never display embedded subtitles in some videos, while they always worked in Media Player Classic and other players.

No sample that I can share on the internet ;)

But here's a screencap though:

remove ac3, Install ffdshow.

normalize audio works with Bsplayer 2.7
remove ac3codec, Install FFDshow.
Assuming you don't have any codec packs, or anything else screwing up the installation, when you next open playback in bsplayer, ffdshow will be available, and that has the option to normalize.
