Large Files, Samba, Win98 & Mythtv I have a linux machine (RH9, with Samba) that captures TV signals and saves the files as MPEG. Files are *LARGE* typically >= 2 to 10GIG. . Specifically, my linux box runs http://www.mythtv.org, and I have a Hauppauge 250 card in the linux box, it outputs MPEG video streams. . Playback is on a Win98 SE machine via your program. TWO Issues: . (1) your program seems to have a problem when files are >= 2GIG, you cannot use the slider bar, and the video stops at some position in the video file. Seems to be a 'modulus' position based on size of the file mod 2GIG. . This makes your program worthless for any show >= 30 minutes. . (2) If I stream the file via an "http:" link, your program seems to hang for ever and never display the video. (10 to 20 minutes later... it seems to be done doing what ever it is it was doing) . It sure would be nice if your package would support Myth's streaming video format so I could also watch LIVE TV and stuff like that. [/url] |
