BSPlayer enables smooth scrolling (!?)

Hi.

This one is strange. I've disabled visual efects for menus (which includes smooth scrolling) in my Windows 2000 SP4, but BSPlayer on startup turns smooth scroll on again. :?
I tried few times, and it always happens.

netzah 19th July 2004 06:38 PM

I've checked with Regmon that BSPlayer only reads from
HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\SmoothScroll, and this key is not changed. But smooth scroll it ON after BSP starts, so i don't know what could it be :? :?
Does anyone know what's going on?

Under Windows XP Pro SP1 the same BUG! Please help!

I have the same problem too, and that's not all :(( When I tried to open file with that typical open-file-dialog-box, I changed view settings in the window to have things displayed in list, instead of large icons ... after closing, BSPlayer always shuts down when I try to open file in this way, so I have to browse+open every movie from explorer/shell/whatever ... I thought that reinstall could help but it won't :(( I tried to do the same thing in older BSPlayer 0.87 or what the version was - to open a file and change view to list ... and now is even the old version fcked up! So it crashes (without any error message) everytime I click the open button, instantly! I'm posting this here because maybe here might be some connections between these bad thigs. otoh I have more registry-reset problems (I still didn't find out which app(s) reset everytime after my login some registry settings ... and randomly! sometime is registry setting switched on, sometimes on, doesn't matter which apps I run ... this problem concerns "stealing focus" and "x-mouse" settings - so isn't this also question for mswin developers?)

ok, i was trying to solve the problem with that instant crash on open button - and I found out that _every program_ crashes when I try to go to the folder, set in the system as my video folder (usually it's something like \My Documents\My Videos), so I just assigned my videos folder to any unused folder (actually it's that %MyDocuments%\My Videos ;) and now the open from player worx normally. But smooth-scroll problem remains ..:( otoh recently I didn't install a lot of new apps and I suspect that new BSP caused this problem ..? :/ You don't have any problems with the folder defined in the system as My (Yours .) Videos??

Hello BS community.

I can confirm this bug. OS: XP Pro, SP1.

1. TweakUI: "Enable listbox animation" -> OFF
2. Listbox animation IS off.
3. Start BSPlayer (v1.00 b810)
4. Quit BSPlayer
5. Listbox animation is ON.

I hope it helps.

Do you know in which case BSPlayer will disable smooth-scroll again? I'll modify eden's post a bit (my 'parts' are bold)

3.01 Listbox animation is ON.
3.50. Go to Preferences (e.g. by pressing CTRL+P)
3.99 Do anything you want

4. Quit BSPlayer
5. Listbox animation is [b]OFF AGAIN[b].

So if u are tired off re-setting the smooth-scroll settings anywhere, just don't forget to visit the preferences (maybe any other program part of BSP works too, I don't know) ...

like eden, I hope it helps too ;)

uf.on,
your workaround is quite remarkable... :D

Anyway, even this way is annoying. I predictably won't remember to press CTRL-P every time I watch a video.

My OS is W2K SP4.

And BSPlayer Build 808 didn't have this bug.
