Latest version of BSPlayer and DirectVobSub

hi all!

I've a problem with the latest version of the player and direct vobsub. This version don't use direct vobsub to show subtitles but only his integrated function. So I can't never use vobsub to see them.

can you help me?

Tnx! :D

Hi, I've got the same problem. When the subs are *.sub/*.idx subs rather than *.srt the player crashes.

Other than that, great job :)

DirectVobSub was deprecated and replaced by VSFilter
Check http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli

perhaps this problem is caused by new version of Divx (5.2) because I've installed the previous version of bsplayer (809) and the problem hasn't been resolved :x

I've downloaded the VSfilter and the Guliverkli file you said might fix the problem, but as it doesn't have a .txt to explain anything but the license, I am a bit unsure as to how I should progress.

Can you help me out?

First of all, locate the file dvobsub.ax in your system
Let's say it is located in c:\windows\system32
Go to Start > Run and type:

regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\dvobsub.ax

Now you need vsfilter.dll (you must've downloaded it off guliverkli site)
Copy it to your system directory preferably (usually c:\windows\system32)
Again Start > Run and:

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\vsfilter.dll

In order to configure vsfilter.dll you must enter:

rundll32 vsfilter.dll,DirectVobSub

(You might wanna add that as a shortcut in your desktop)

Didn't work. Looks like the problem lies elsewhere.

I've solved the problem by converting the .sub/.idx files into a .srt file instead and that makes it work just fine.

Now that I know how to do that, I will continue doing so in the future.

Thanks for your help though.

edit: Just noticed that another movie I have uses .idx, but the sub file itself is in a rar file that hasn't been opened...and that works just fine.
