Subtitle dissapear delay.

Greetings...

v. 1.37, b826. Freeware

I am a funsubber (making subtitles) and when I want to test my work on video, I saw, that in BSPlayer every subtitle not dissapearing when it needed. I mean that I funsubber< I need that subtitles dissapear as I wrote in .srt file. I mean to see how subtitle shows up and dissapears when it needed, but it has some delay (~1 sec) and I just cant test my work with BS Player.
In other players I don't have this problem, but I like BS Player, and I want to use this player always.

I terribly sorry about grammatical mistakes. It's not my mother language.

You can try to change BSplayer's video rendering modes, and/or to raise BSplayer priority in General Preferences

Never had this problem myself. In fact my problems were that the program I use to make subtitles had a delay and that was because of an improper codec setting, to be precise it was MPEG2. But didn't affect avi files. Maybe you'll find the error right there, not in BSPlayer. Your program have a preview window ? Does the subtitle work ok in there ?
If you change format from srt to sub does the problem persist ?

Viruson 15th January 2006 03:35 PM

There nothing to do with priority: I have very strong PC.

And "no"- This problem also in ass, ssa and sub files.
Program that I use to create srt called DSRT and preview window working perfect.

I don't think that the main problem - its my PC or the .srt file. It's deffinatly BS Player problem.

Saddly, that I can't record "live" a little period of BS playing, and a little period of other player and show you the differenses between BS to other player.

Once again- sorry for my grammatical mistakes.

OFF topic, Camtasia recorder can capture video from your desktop. I did do that some times.
FRAPS also I understand, can do the same thing. Worth to try.

Viruson 15th January 2006 06:19 PM

Hmm... I will try to create something with Castasia thing...
When I'm done, I will upload results to my ftp and give you links.

Viruson 15th January 2006 07:19 PM

Damn.. How mutch frames per second maximum I can do?
I want to record my desttop as a vieo, not couple of 5-10 frames per second...
This Cantasia makes me crazy >_<

adicoto 15th January 2006 07:23 PM

Try to record just a small window. It should be enough. And can you pop up also the subtitles editor from BSPlayer ?

Viruson 15th January 2006 08:04 PM

damn, all my records have size about of 150 mb....
lol.... I have only 100 mb on ftp... hm... Think.... Think....

adicoto 15th January 2006 08:06 PM

VirtualDub->video>compresion, select DivX or XviD codec and compress the file at some 800 kbps bitrate also audio->full processing mode->audio->compresion and select mpeg layer 3 at about 96 kbps. That should get the file to around 20 MB.

Viruson 17th January 2006 02:06 PM

Thanks!
I did this and compressing this toke me about of 2 howrs ^_^

Anyway I can't recompress more than 65 mb.

So what will you say about?

adicoto 20th January 2006 03:47 PM

Just downloaded this morning. I'll look at it this evening and we'll see then, ok ?

adicoto 22nd January 2006 11:31 AM

Just trying and trying to get the file to work. I can't play it smooth in BSPlayer and VirtualDubMod can't process it, it stumble uppon an error and stop. Can't you reduce the file from 1024x768 to 640x480 or something like this and re-compress it ?

Viruson 22nd January 2006 03:55 PM

Hmm... Maybe there was a little error while uploading.. You know, DSL problems =)
Well, I can't find how to resize video to 800x600... Can you suggest me what to do?

adicoto 22nd January 2006 08:43 PM

In VirtualDub video->filters->add filter->resize and here put something smaller, like 640x480 or 576x384. and be sure is not 100 fps but some like 25. This is the information that came with the video file:

1024x768 @ 100 fps.

Viruson 22nd January 2006 09:07 PM

Ok, thanks.
Now I need to download this again >_<

25fps... 100 fps not good?

adicoto 22nd January 2006 09:31 PM

No, it's too much, most of the computers can't handle such thing. Usually it's 23,976 fps (NTSC) or 25 fps (PAL).

Viruson 22nd January 2006 09:35 PM

Wow... I'm such a lammer ^_^

Wel... Wait till tomorrow. It's midnight now, and I'm going to sleep.
I will reply here (with link) about 16 hours from now.

adicoto 22nd January 2006 10:05 PM
