no subtitles from mkv files

When I play mkv files using media player classic the subtitles show with community codec pack 2007. However when I play .mkv files subtitles do not show even though they are selected. Any advice on this issue? A bug?

Wich splitter do you use for Matroska files ? If Gabest then I can confirm the fact that if you have internal subtitles and select an external one, it's not showing.
