Playing videos from Panasonic TZ3 camera

The Panny TZ3 camera can can record beautifully looking (yes, really - but pictures a bit suxx, tough...) movies in mov format that is 640 x 480 at 30fps. Because I will don't like to install orginal Quick Time, I use the QT alternative codec pack from there:
http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm
Latest at the time used, v1.81 of the Quick Time alternative.

Now in most players the image went only for second and then halt and only sound is going on. Older KMplayer on just Athlon 1.1Gjz SOMETIMES play the whole movie fine, but then it mostly do as the others - play just a second of video and then play only audio for the rest...

And yes, they play well in the QuickTime or Media Player Classic.

20MB example of TZ3 camera output:

(it's just my backyard and czech comments on how the cam did not allow you to zoom in video and such... no nasty pornography, lol ...maybe next time...)

The interesting thig - these videos play w/o a glitch in latest KMplayer or in even old Media Player Classic v6.4.7.5 ...!!! Hence this must be a BSplayer BUG!

Hmmm, so, bad news.
The bug persist.

I tried twelve times play the movie on the stepbro Athlon 1.1Ghz oldie machine with XP winblows. All twelve times it hang in KMplayer - I mean of course just the video hang and stop playing, rest (audio) is fine as well as the player itself.

Then I tried the Media Player Classic v6.4.7.5 (I will not update it, never versions has stripped the bik playback, so, no way!) and in all twelve cases the video was played w/o a hiccup on the same relatively slow machine.

So now the 3Ghz Opteron test. And quess what! In all twelve test cases the KMplayer hangs the video playback just like on the stepbro machine...! And also in all cases it never happen with Media Player Classic v6.4.7.5. Hmmm.

However it hang the same way in orginal Microsoft Media Player v6.4.09.1125 as well s the never v8... And I decided to try my v9 of the Win Media Player and quess what - it hang the video too after a first second.

Good news is that BSplayer is NOT alone in this bug. Bad news is that there ARE players capable of playing this video w/o a problem. BSplayer it just is not ready for Panasonic TZ3 camera (probably many more that just this one, probably all from their current production...) movies.

Another bad news, but from me this time. Your pool it's damn ugly :)) your cradle need a bit of paint, the benches too, and what's that greenhouse in the backyard ?
To be more precise, the video play OK in here, no problems, no glitches. Runing on an Centrino 1,7 GHz, 512 DDR and intel onboard video. BSPlayer 2.21, quicktime alternative 1.81.

LE: also playing OK on my PC, Piv@2,6 GHz, 1 GB DDR, Ati radeon x700, BSPlayer 2.21 and quick time alternative 1.78.

Well, sis need to clean it up, if he is about to use it... She let the water here over whole winter, so no wonder the color of the water is "weird" :)

Cradle should be removed, sis is 15 now and greenhouse if neighbout shiiit, I'm not responsible for that

Nevermind :)

For me the hang happen on both tested machines 100% of times I tested it (only once, like week ago it played well in KMplayer on the stepbro Athlon old machine - in rest of cases the video do always hang) and I do believe it will happen on sis machine when I try it too...

I wonder how come it is not reproducable on your machine too. Tried any M$ players to reproduce the bug? Or maybe it is the nVidia videocards we mostly use there?

Machines. As you saw, I've tested it on both of my computers, one PC and one laptop and the file run flawless. Just tested also with MPlayer2, no problems whatsoever.
