Bugs in playing some kind of rmvb files

BSPlayer wold tend to recognize tagged rmvb files as mp3 file and thus cannot playing it correctly but only result in noises, no video at all.

Is this a bug or please someone just tell me how to resolve the problem I encountered?

Maybe it's a codec/splitter problem, or it depends on the rendering type you choose in BSplayer preferences (it works perfectly with default renderer, but recognizes rmvb files as audio only if overlay mixer renderer is selected).
Does this happen with every rmvb file?
Try to download some samples from this page and see if they work or not.
I've not tested all of them, but I can assure you that ScoobyDoo2 trailer (1Mbps) works perfectly with BSplayer and Gabest's Decoders and Splitter

You can also try to use the BS.Player codec manager available in latest release (ATM v2.30.970), just install v2.30 or greater and play your rmvb file, if it plays normally (without asking you for a codec update), then go to your BSplayer installation dir and run bspcodecdl.exe executable.
Then select RealMedia Splitter and click on "Install selected" button

Same problem with me!!!!!!!!

I have tv-series had converted them from avi to rmvb with Easy RealMedia Tools some of them played normally and the others BS.Player recognize as Audio files, By the way the files that doesn't work in BS.Player are working on RealPlayer and Windows Media Player, This problem always happen to me since first version.

I'm so and soo tired please solve this problem!!!!!!!

Sorry SuPeRGeNiUs, I had to remove your other 3 posts since they all were related to this behavior and you revived 3 really old threads (june 2006, december 2006, october 2007)

You can try to rise the filters priority:
Press CTRL+P to open preferences window
Select Filter Management
Check Enable advanced graph building checkbox
Select Filter priority tab
Click on Add filter
Search for Real splitter/source/decoder and add them one by one by rising the Filter merit before you click on OK

If this doesn't work can you provide a link to one of the non working files? This way BSP developers can improve its reliability

I think that at this moment there are still some compressors for wich there isn't any decompressors available for directshow players. Or the splitter doesn't send the correct information. I don't know. A link to such files would be usefull.

Yes, but since he said he personally converted all of them it sounds strange to me that some works and some not
Anyway a sample is better than nothing to see some improvements on playback side
