[SOLVED] problems in other software after installing 2.32

After installing BS.Player 2.32 Free and the missing codec detected by 'Bsplayer codec diagnostics' other programs like the Windows media player could not any more detect a valid codec at all (even not for wmv) . It seems the codec installation from BS.Player 2.32 mess up things. After putting things back with the last windows recovery point it works fine again accept that I am back to BS.Player 2.31
System: Windows XP PRO and DivX codec from divx.com installed.

BS.Player wmv playback

Could it be that BS.Player 2.32 only took the file association (installation option Associate with supported files)?

WMP does not play back anything after installing BSPlayer

No, it could not be. I have the same problem. Not sure if it started exactly after I downloaded the missing codecs or right after installation, but when I tried to playback anything with Windows Media Player it always failed with a message similar to "Cannot play back the file. Invalid File Format or the format is not supported". I tried wma, mp3, avi - they all failed, while I could play them back before successfully.

@kulakov: Can you give us your BS.Player version and OS used?

Software Details

Hi. They are:
XP Professional SP2
BS.Player 2.32 Build 975

GSpot

GSpot reports sample mp3 and wma files can be rendered and even does render them. It seems WMP is Ok (has everything needed installed) but it seems to be thinking it misses some codecs or smth.

OK

I dare think I fixed that by some reinstallation manipulations with WMP. Things are back fine now. Both players do it well.

We are not sure what this problem could be. Can you give us more description on "reinstallation manipulations with WMP" ? :)

I didn't want to give details because I thought they didn't matter. You may think I reinstalled WMP 9, and that was it.
