Internal renderer doesn't work under Windows 7

I am running BSplayer Pro Version 2.34 Build 980 on Windows 7 Beta Build 7000.

And when using the Internal renderer overlay (default) I get no picture with any video files I play. Just a black screen.

Are you working on fixing this issue for when Windows 7 goes final?

adicoto 15th January 2009 06:32 PM

Probably, as long as it's a Beta, the final product can be a lot different from this build. I believe they will start working after the final release. I will test it also soon.
How's EVR working ?

gate1975mlm 15th January 2009 06:35 PM

Yes EVR works fine under Windows 7.

They all seem to work except Internal renderer overlay (default)

Aero disabled ?

gate1975mlm 15th January 2009 08:29 PM

No Aero is working fine with all Video rendering modes.

Will that issue with Aero getting disabled when using Internal renderer overlay (default) in Vista be fixed in Windows 7?

gate1975mlm 15th January 2009 08:37 PM

According to this the Aero getting disabled issue is now fixed in Windows 7!

As most of you know when using the default rendering mode in BS Player on Vista it will turn off Aero theme.

But it looks like this will be fixed and not happen anymore in Windows 7

Don't you hate it when a media application uses the video overlay function of your video card in Vista, and there's this annoying screen flash as you lose the Aero glass interface? Then there's another flash as Aero is restored when you shut the program down. With Windows 7 and WDDM 1.1 drivers, that shouldn't happen anymore.

And I think its true because Dream Aquarium screen saver always disables Aero in Vista. And in Windows 7 it does not disable it anymore :)

Filters used ?

gate1975mlm 16th January 2009 12:16 AM

Filters?

Not sure what you mean?

adicoto 16th January 2009 01:25 AM

Codecs / splitters used for playing files ?
DivX, XviD, AC3, MKV (H{x}264) ?

BSPeter 16th January 2009 10:49 AM

With a movie-file loaded in BS.Player you can check which codec(s)/filter(s) BS.Player actually uses for playback of the file:
(rightclick >) Options > Filters > Advanced ...

Does that info help any guys :)

I have tried all kinds of formats DivX, XviD, AC3, MKV (H{x}264) .mov, wmv.

They all just show a black screen in the Internal renderer overlay (default) Mode.

They all play fine in all the other Video rendering modes.

And again Aero is working fine with all Video rendering modes including Internal renderer overlay (default) Mode.

adicoto 17th January 2009 03:03 PM

Just installed official release of Beta. No problems in here using Gabest splitters, elecard MPEG 2 decoder, CoreAVC, AC3Filter. Seems XviD 1.2 final doesn't wasnt to run...Yet ;)

gate1975mlm 17th January 2009 05:06 PM

adicoto

What official Beta release are you talking about? Windows 7?

And are you saying you got Internal renderer overlay (default) to work on Windws 7? If so how?

adicoto 17th January 2009 05:49 PM

The release I have, it's the official release that can be downloaded from microsoft's site. It's Windows 7 Ultimate.

On the other hand, seems that Aero it's not activated. I will be back soon after I solve this problem too.

LE: after turning aero ON, I can confirm behaviour.
LE2: after swiching to EVR, subtitles turned black instead of white.

beckhamstef 19th January 2009 12:42 PM

I've had the same problem... I went to the installation folder in program files/webteh/bspayer/ Then, right-click on bsplayer.exe, click Troubleshoot Compatibility, then Next, and tick the "The program does not display corectly" box, then Next, then "Windows transparency isn't displayed properly", Next, Next again and "Save the setting for this program"... It will automaticly switch Aero on and off when you launch BS Player.

Hope it helped!

daka888 19th January 2009 01:03 PM

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! i didnt know what do do already and i gave up i was just about co go back to vista and i saw your message....

adicoto 19th January 2009 05:52 PM

In here, by default, when a file it's opened, Aero it's turned off and after closing BSPlayer, back ON (using overlay mixer)

gate1975mlm 19th February 2009 09:59 PM

Any idea when this will be fixed?
