Aspect Ratios
 

You are correct that the aspect ratio for 16:9 is 1.77. I miscalculated. VobSub does however "resize" the picture to the correct ratio.

For example, if you have a move with the dimensions of 640x272 (2.35:1) vobsub will add borders to the top and bottom in order to make the size 640x360 (1.77:1).

When fitting this movies to the entire screen it should have the right proportions. Am I wrong?

Circles in movies, etc., look circular to me, but I think I will create som test-videos with circles in all aspect ratio's to see if the setup I have, will fail in presenting these properly.

My tests went well. Circles were circular.

The only problem I can see with this setup, is that letterboxed content will not be transformed to anamorphic.

How's it going? Have anyone solved the anamorpic problem in BS yet?
It's really annoying with no such option in BS. I tried ZoomPlayer, and it's anamorpic option is great. Though I like BS much more.

BSplayer should have an anamorphic option!

Perhaps have a look at latest build 808 (27 April 2004)
