Will there be a Linux version?
 

i use linux most of the time, so i miss bs player a lot. :cry:

try MPlayer ... i think it's at least as good as bsplayer :)

however i think bsplay uses the ms directX video engine for rendering (correct me anyone, if i'm wrong, but almost every windows player does).
This way i't could be hard - if not impossible - to port it to linux (regretfully, unless ms releases directX for linux... ok, better forget this)

I don't like to say this, but it's a fact that linux cannot really compete windows in multimedia stuff (SO FAR!!!), therefore it has a lot of other superior abilities...

hmmm ... maybe linux cannot really compete windows in multimedia stuff but I don't know ANY movie-format MPlayer can't play... and it also does have good performance and a lot of nice features.. so i think there is actually no need for a bsplayer-linux-version... Hmmm..that's my opinion...maybe I'm wrong .)

mplayer or xine both play videos with far less cpu utilization and play more videos then the windows media player engine players like bsplayer. Both are also much more customizable and have more features. I like xine myself.

vlc is the only one I'm aware of that uses it's own engine, it also has cpu utilization much lower then wmp.
