ff/rw

I think it would be useful to have a 30 second skip ff/rw in addition to the 2-5 second skip that bs has, now. The ATi file player has that and it's great for running through already seen parts, commercials, etc...

There already is a fast forward and fast rewind implemented.
Default keys are Ctrl+F5 resp Ctrl+F6, but you can (re)define according to your own preference under "Key definitions & WinLIRC". (Please note you can have different keys for windowed mode and for full screen mode, which - consequently - must also be defined separately).
Isn't that feature exactly what you're looking for?
(Another possibility would perhaps be to set playback rate at 2x and subsequently increase it a couple of times by 10%)

Hmmm...
Ok, maybe you're right...
I'm confused, because there is "seek forward/backward", "jump forward/backward", and "fast forward/rewind". What are the differences?

Ok...
Fast forward/rewind doubles the play speed forward and reverse.
Jump forward/reverse jumps 10 seconds at a time, but if held down, jumps 30 seconds at a time.
Skip forward/reverse jumps 2 seconds at a time.
I guess my request is taken care of by holding the button.

In Settings' window you can select how many seconds you want to jump forward/backward. Just go in General settings and at the bottom you can find a string saying "Seconds to jump", there you can insert the number of seconds to jump!! (maybe the maximum is 30 seconds, even though you can insert greater values)
Try!

I'll give that a whirl tonight.
Thanks...
