BSPlayer must have new icons

Please, get this program some decent icons! I'm really liking BSP, but these icons are -- no offense -- atrocious. I don't want to see these things all over my system!

crimarti 1st February 2004 08:40 AM

i agree.

iron2000 2nd February 2004 10:44 AM

I support your request.

would be a good if each file type could have a icon of its own.
Like both avi and mpeg files played by default with bsplayer, and each type have the old icons (grey and "blue" video camera)...

xlv600 13th February 2004 12:27 PM

I agree too.
But, maybe BST is a better coder than designer.
I guess he can't use copyrighted materials, then why don't you make and post here your own icones so that he can include them???

Just as a suggestion: Go and ask Food to make icons for BsP...

If you don't know Food's Icons go to his site: http://www.foood.net/

I think he's still open for "custom orders" ... But they're not free...

He would be able to make some beautiful icons...

ha. i was just about to make a post about this. great program, horrible icons.

i have a different idea though. implement bsplayer to use a custom icon as specified by the user. for the player and file types. same way limewire works. it has a dir with the icons. you can just replace them to suit your needs.

very simple.

Everyone is invited to design new icon for BSPlayer.

netnichols 13th March 2004 12:50 AM

Please oh please.. somebody make some nice icons BSPlayer! But I also agree with metal_termite.. being able to drop some icons in a directory would be really nice.

Why is it that the best programs always have crappy (imho) icons? BSPlayer, WinRAR, Firebird / Thunderbird until recently.

neato713 13th March 2004 01:37 AM

TONS of free icons that are openly available for non-comercial use on www.iconfactory.com. Bsplayer is non comercial.

All right! Let's see what we can't do ...

Mat2000 23rd March 2004 02:54 PM

Please create something nice.
You can be awarded with commercial version of Bsplayer.

I do, though, like metal_termite's idea, that BSPlayer could have an option to browse to and select whatever icon the user wants for associated file-types. I think only one icon for all types would be fine. (Side note: I like how files associated with BSP just say, for example, "AVI File" and not something vague like "BSPlayer multimedia file." Short, simple, sweet.) Still, I'll see if I can whip something up.

J44xm 4th April 2004 08:23 AM

Well, I've been a bit busy and sporadically ill and haven't been able to create a decent icon or two. Still, I think the best thing for the creators to do would be to allow users to browse for their own media icons. (The main application icon, while not attractive, can remain, I think. It's just media file, I believe, that should be customizeable.) Please think about adding this to BSPlayer!

megamacy 8th April 2004 10:36 AM

The best will be if i can set custom Icons for each filetype, so everybody can choose his fav. icons from his collection.

J44xm 9th April 2004 12:54 AM

I agree, that'd be great. But a simple choose-icon-for-media-files feature would work just fine for me.

:)

eli2k 26th April 2004 04:40 AM

Files for individual media types should be possible, shouldn't it? Just remove file associations and you can pick your own icon from all those icon sets scattered on customizing sites.

J44xm 26th April 2004 05:07 AM

It'd be easiest to just have an option in BSP to select any single icon that would represent ALL types.

USER MANUAL

Where oh WHERE can I find a decent BSPlayer user's manual??????????TANX!

BSPeter 27th April 2004 10:22 PM

@Atti: Don't double (let alone triple) post !
(It's an invitation to ignore you)
