AspectRatio handling - feature or what? consider this - movie 720x576 4:3 aspect-ratio croped lets say to 720x320 ... and encoded it at 720x320.... what will give you bsplayer when you check 'aspect ratio -> 4:3' - some weird resolution - dont know exaclty but it will scale x:y=4:3 -> you wont get 768x320 (only for 720x576 you will this way get 768x576)... im not sure about correct solution - but above method is wrong (for this kind of encoded movies) .... correcting this 'feature' will help a lot (for 16:9 also) ... |
If none of the "predefined" aspect ratios result in a correct image, you can always try with "Keep aspect ratio" deselected (under rightclick > Video) which lets you freely resize video window by grabbing the borders of the window and pulling at them, or ... you can even define your own "Custom aspect ratio": (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Video just to the right of the [Close] button. |
