overlay support

are we going to see that guys?

adicoto 28th October 2007 12:44 PM

See what ? AFAIK, BSPlayer uses by default overlay mode.

Exoskeletor 28th October 2007 09:35 PM

ahh sorry i mean aero

adicoto 29th October 2007 01:25 PM

Microsoft didn't allowed to use overlay mode under Aero. So, BSPlayer, that uses overlay mode by default, disable Aero while playing a file.

So which rendering mode that works with Aero gives the best image quality? Is overlay always better?

adicoto 19th November 2007 05:21 PM

For Aero, the best should be EVR (Vista's enhanced video renderer). Overlay it's used to take advantage of video card's capabilities to decode the compressed stream instead of the main CPU.

Okay I do have a 3GHz quad-core CPU so I guess that would be fine.

So there's no way I can make my 8800GT (best video decoding GPU ever from what I've heard) decode all video while still having Aero enabled?
