[NOT FIX YET] BS.player v2.33 + codec update + proxy = error

Hi.

I work in a environnement using HTTP proxy.

When I installed the software, at the end of the installation, it gave me a error of connection. Later, when I tryed to view a .FLV file, I was unable to view the video because the video codec was missing and BSPlayer was unable to download it from Internet.

I made a quick look at the options to see if BSPlayer can use proxy to download codec or update from internet, but the isn't any of thoses options.

Would it be possible to use the same setting as Internet Explorer (or other web browser) to download thoses updates from the HTTP proxy ?

Thanks

BS.Player proxy player :)

Downloading missing codecs thru proxy is added to 2.33, which is due soon.

It does NOT work.

As last time, just the end of the installation of the package, a error appear on the screen (just when it want to verify codec version thru internet)

I shoud find a place in the program that can let me enter the Proxy server name, username and password but I cannot find any of thoses options. Did I look incorrectly ?

And by the same time, add a button that could verify the codec verision autotically (not just at the installation).

Thanks

Can you make a screenshot of the error? BS.Player uses default proxy settings - if your Internet Explorer works, BS.Player Codec Manager should work also.

You can always run Codec Manager manually in BS.Player folder (program files/webteh/bsplayer/bspcodecdl.exe).

Hi.

This is the screenshot at the end of the installation of BSPlayer FREE edition v2.33.

It clearly shows that the program bspcodecdl.exe is unable to download thru internet, even if I tried to run this program manually. I know this is related to HTTP proxy because it work fine at my home but not at work.

I know that my IE is installed correctly and many other application running on my computer (opera,Firefox,Easy CDDA extractor, etc...) All of thoses programs got options to exerr proxy setting.

Hope this will help.

Thanks

Did you try BS.Player 2.34 which has option of proxy settings?

try manually creating this file in you bsplayer installation directory:

bspcodecdl.ini

content in the above file:

[ProxySettings]
Type=1
Server=xxx.xxx.xx.xx
Port=8080
User=
Pass=

replace Server= with the ip address of your proxy
replace Port= with the port number of your proxy

i had to create it manually as i clicked the codec manager proxy tab and nothing happened
after creating this file i was able to download codecs succesfully thru my proxy.
