CodecManager not working Hi I thought I had posted this but I can't find it so apologies if it shows up twice. I have completely uninstalled BSP and installed version 2.63 build 1071 several times and it NEVER asked to update or install codecs. When I run CodecManager (from the Program File directory of BSP) it does not refresh or do the check of codecs that I've seen on a functional installation of BSP. Once CM is loaded, there are no codecs listed and the only active button is Refresh which briefly (<< .5 sec) displays "Downloading codec list" but nothing further happens. I have a Win XP machine which is functional in all other aspects. The program "Sherlock- The Codec Detective" shows that I have all the common BSP codecs on my machine and that they are functional. Any help appreciated. ....welkinator |
Some antivirus programs block codecmanager. I am using Eset Smart Security and both 5 and 6 version block it. |
Thanks - I too use eset - disabling fixed the codec manager problem. |
